8th February 2020 – Avianto Lifestyle Estate, Muldersdrift

Antonie Joubert -I  woke up the morning of race day with rain pouring down in Pretoria. We still drove through to Krugersdorp, where rain continued to bless us with its presence.

The race was not called off but due to flooding, the race had to be shortened. I have to say, with my background in Adventure Racing, I was comfortable and prepared to race and battle the elements. I managed to enjoy the XCO event and placed podium with a 3rd place, little did I know the winner was just 30sec in front of me.

Who knows if the race was longer if the result would’ve been different or the same, but I’ll take it!
